- Johnston set for Celtic talks amid 'weight of shirt' worry
Brendan Rodgers has praised ‘brilliant’ Mikey Johnston for the sparkling form he is displaying on loan at West Bromwich Albion, saying that he will sit down with the winger in the summer and discuss whether or not his future lies at Celtic. Rodgers has been hugely impressed by what Johnston has produced for the Baggies in The Championship, with the Republic of Ireland international scoring six times in just 10 appearances. It is a level of consistency that Johnston has struggled to replicate in a Celtic jersey throughout his career, and while Rodgers has never doubted the 24-year-old’s ability, he did suggest that perhaps the ‘different weight of shirt’ was a factor in his failure to nail down a regular place in the club’s starting XI.

- John Hartson makes 'no doubt' Mikey Johnston Celtic future claim
Celtic winger Mikey Johnston has been backed to return a better player after impressing on-loan at West Brom. Johnston, 24, was shipped out to the English Championship outfit during the winter transfer window, and has since scored six goals and provided one assist from his 10 appearances. Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers is set to sit down with the Republic of Ireland internationalist over the summer and see whether his future still lies at Celtic. But former Celtic striker John Hartson reckons he can still play a part in the club's long-term plans if he can maintain the consistency shown at West Brom when he returns back north.
