Celtic plan match-day experience boost for fans
Celtic representatives will travel to Manchester City’s match against Aston Villa to study their pre and post match entertainment put on around the stadium as they look to give fans a similar offering next season. City’s ‘BT City Square’ puts on music for fans and serves food up to 15 minutes before kick off. Celtic want to open a fan zone next season behind the Jock Stein stand which would sell alcohol and hold 3,000 supporters. (Sun)

Celtic 2014: Paradise Found for Scotland

CELTIC Park was today confirmed as the venue for two mouth-watering Scottish international matches in November this year, marking another chapter in a unique year for the club.

The largest football stadium in Scotland will proudly host the crucial UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier against Republic of Ireland on Friday November 14, a match that will see us welcome back to Paradise two former managers of the club in Gordon Strachan and Martin O’Neill.

Just four days later Scotland face Roy Hodgson’s England in the 112th meeting between the two nations. This will be the sixth time that this particular fixture has been played at Celtic Park, and for the first time since 1904.

The international double-header is the latest in a long list of events staged at Celtic Park in a momentous year for the club. Earlier in 2014 the stadium hosted both national cup finals with Aberdeen claiming the League Cup and St Johnstone triumphing in the Scottish Cup. Sandwiched in between was cup success for Celtic’s Under-17s who secured the Glasgow Cup on home soil against Rangers.

The showpiece event of a packed 2014 will be the hosting of the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. The eyes of the world will be on Celtic Park on Wednesday, July 23 on what is sure to be a spectacular occasion as the games kick-off in Paradise.

As well as playing proud host to numerous gala occasions 2014 has also seen the club open the magnificent new Celtic Way at the entrance of the stadium, mark the return of the Lisbon Lions to the scene of their famous triumph and continue to raise funds through various events organised by Celtic FC Foundation. It has been and continues to be a year of celebration and pride for the club.

Celtic 2014. A year like no other. A club like no other.

Sowohl für die CW-Games wie auch der Umzug ins Murrayfield hat Celtic einiges an Geld eingebracht.

Dazu noch die Fanaktion mit dem Verkauf von 2x2 cm Rasen aus dem Celtic-Park ;D

Celtic Park Fan Technology Scoops Prestigious Award

CELTIC'S innovative approach to enhancing the fans' matchday experience at Celtic Park has achieved further recognition from the European Club Association (ECA) this evening.

The Club secured a prestigious award for its Full Stadium WiFi Connectivity of Celtic Park, recognised through the presentation of the ECA’s Best Achievement in Marketing Award.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell was in attendance at the ECA General Assembly to pick up the award on behalf of Celtic and the club’s partners, Sports Revolution.

He said: “We are delighted to accept this award from the European Club Association. Celtic is one of Europe's leading football clubs and we are proud of the efforts we have made in this area.

“We are committed to delivering the best matchday experience possible for our supporters and that commitment requires to stay at the forefront of technological advances.

“Our partnership with Sports Revolution, coupled with other developments progressing around Celtic Park, means that matchday experience will be second to none.”

CelticLIVE was developed in partnership with Sports Revolution in response to direct feedback from Celtic fans. Supporter surveys showed that fans were frustrated that they could not communicate with their friends and their favourite brands via smartphone and tablet devices on a matchday.

In response, the aim was to produce a best-in-class example of stadia connectivity and fan engagement. Not only would this mean Celtic Park would become one of the first stadiums in Europe to have a full stadium WiFI network, but 12 months ago Paradise became the first stadium to operate WiFi in conjunction with a dedicated matchday app, CelticLive, to deliver a wide range of content directly to fans with compatible devices.

This recognition, at the annual gathering of Europe’s elite clubs, comes with Celtic landing the coveted ECA award ahead of a host of the biggest names in European Club football. and is testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams at Sports Revolution and Celtic who deliver the service to Celtic fans.

Supporters who have downloaded CelticLive to their phones have benefitted from live by-the-minute stats during games, photo and video content, commentary and the ability to vote for the man-of-the-match.

This latest award is the second Celtic and Sports Revolution have secured for CelticLive since its launch 12 months ago. having previously won the Sports Technology Award for Best Support Technology for Fans.

Celtic Supporters on IOS and Android Devices can download the CelticLive app now at the Apple App Store or Google Play.
