Hernanes back on Celtic radar?
Celtic could rekindle their interest in Juventus midfielder Hernanes, with the Brazilian struggling for game time in Turin. The 31-year-old was linked with Celtic in the summer, and while the former Lazio star stayed in Italy, it is thought he could exit Juventus before the transfer window closes. Although tied to Juventus until 2018, Hernanes last made a league appearance for the club in November.

Hoops sweat over Gordon bid
Celtic are facing a stand-off with ‘keeper Craig Gordon amid interest from Chelsea. Parkhead chiefs had planned to rush through contract talks with the ex-Hearts and Sunderland goalie but it is understood Gordon is keeping his options open despite Celtic knocking back a £3 million bid for the 34-year-old. Chelsea are also keeping tabs on 30-year-old PSG ‘keeper Salvatore Sirigu and could swoop for the Italian if a move for Gordon falls through.

Onyekuru could yet join Celtic
Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru could yet join Celtic, with current club Eupen making moves to sign replacements for the 19-year-old striker. Onyekuru was linked with a £1 million move to Glasgow but interest cooled after the player’s agency firm cast doubt on the switch. But with Brendan Rodgers still keen, and clubs in Germany, Russia and Turkey all keeping tabs on Onyekuru, the player could yet leave Belgium this window.

Lennon still keen on Commons
Neil Lennon is still keen on bringing Celtic attacker Kris Commons to Easter Road, despite the transfer window nearing its end. Commons signed an emergency loan deal with Hibs in December, and scored two key goals as Hibs put space between themselves and Dundee United at the summit of the Championship. And while he has since returned to Celtic, Lennon hasn’t given up hope of bringing Commons back to Leith.

Chelsea could make a deadline day bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, but he is likely to cost the Premier League leaders upwards of £30m. (Daily Mail)

Chelsea are said to have made a £34m offer for the 20-year-old striker and while Celtic value Dembele at £40m, the Londoners are apparently continuing their last-minute pursuit. (Daily Express)

The Scottish champions reacted coolly on Monday night to reports from down south which claimed Antonio Conte is considering launching a massive 11th hour bid for Dembele before the English transfer window closes at 23:00 GMT on Tuesday.
(Daily Record)

Rodgers makes it clear no first-team player will be leaving the club on deadline day despite Chelsea's ongoing interest in Craig Gordon. He expects only Nadir Ciftci to possibly move on, with Efe Ambrose, Kris Commons and Nir Bitton all likely to stay at the club barring any unexpected late developments.

Nadir Ciftci and Efe Ambrose heading for Celtic exit as Chelsea fail in final bid for Craig Gordon

- Celtic are believed to have turned down another offer for Craig Gordon as they maintain that the Scotland internationalist is staying put in Glasgow.

- The Parkhead side have also maintained that there has been no formal offer made for Moussa Dembele, amidst speculation linking the striker with a move to Chelsea. It is believed that the Stamford Bridge side made a note of interest in the player and were told that Celtic’s valuation is £40m. However, it is expected that Chelsea will keep tabs on the striker between now and the end of the season with a summer bid perhaps in the pipeline.

- Meanwhile, one Celtic player who has moved on is Jamie McCart, a product of the club’s youth system. McCart has joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle on loan until the end of the season, while Nadir Ciftci and Efe Ambrose also look likely to secure moves away. Ciftci is in the Netherlands in attempt to seal a loan deal with Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers are believed to be looking at Efe Ambrose.

Dembele ist heute im Flugzeug nach London gesehen worden, laut Verein hat das aber nichts mit einem potentiellen Wechsel zu tun: Chelsea target Moussa Dembele on flight to London as Celtic insist it's for knee scan

17.26: Having previously looked on his way out of Celtic, Nadir Ciftci looks set to remain at the Ladbrokes Premiership leaders having so far failed to win a deal with a club in the Netherlands. The 24-year-old has played only twice this season, both times against Lincoln Red Imps in Champions League qualifiers way back in July.

17.50: Moussa Dembele is on his way back to Glasgow having had his knee scan in London. Many supporters theorised that Dembele being in the capital on deadline day at the same time Chelsea were linked with his signature was too much of a coincidence. Although, that’s exactly what the situation seems to be, as the player looks certain to remain at Celtic.

18.02: Moussa Dembele has made it known through his official Twitter account that he is not leaving Celtic in the January transfer window. The striker posted a half-and-half image of himself pulling a similar pose to that of Leonardo DiCaprio in the Hollywood film The Wolf of Wall Street. The picture of DiCaprio lends itself to a popular meme, which quotes a famous line from the film in which the star screams “I’m not f*****g leaving”. It’s an unusual, but brilliant, way for the striker to end speculation over his move to Chelsea.

18.53: Motherwell are in talks with Celtic to sign striker Nadir Ciftci on loan. The ex-Dundee United star travelled to the Netherlands earlier on transfer deadline day but couldn’t win a move.

:celt1 :celt2

23:12: Efe Ambrose's proposed move to Blackburn appears to be off, with the English Championship club pulling the plug. It just shows how quickly things can change on these nights

23.56: The Efe Ambrose to Blackburn deal is back on, according to the player. Official confirmation has yet to be announced, but reports are suggesting the 28-year-old will sign on loan for the Championship side for the remainder of the season. He’ll join ex-Celtic team-mates Charlie Mulgrew and Anthony Stokes at Ewood Park.

23.59: Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted there was no £40m bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, despite reports in France stating the contrary. The Italian stressed that talk of an official offer was “just speculation” as the 20-year-old striker remained a Celtic player despite interest from the English Premier League side.

0:03: It's been a night of 'might have beens' and Motherwell's query about a possible loan deal for out-of-favour Celtic forward Nadir Ciftci is another one to come to nothing.

0:05: The window is closed. We're past the midnight hour and it's all been a bit of a damp squib. There could be a few deals in the pipeline like the Efe Ambrose to Blackburn loan move. There's a bit of leeway for jammed fax machines and such like.

0:28: It's all over - or is it?
Efe Ambrose switch from Celtic to Blackburn on loan is on the Scottish FA's list of approved moves but it has not been announced by either club. We'll need to wait for that but I'm not staying up any longer.

Efe Ambrose left in limbo over move to Blackburn Rovers
Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is still waiting for confirmation that his loan move to Blackburn Rovers will go ahead. The move looked to be off earlier on transfer deadline day before it was resurrected at the 11th hour with Ambrose telling reporters the deal was done. All the requisite paperwork was received by both the Scottish and English football governing bodies prior to the 11pm deadline, however they are still waiting on a work permit to be granted. Blackburn are confident the deal will be confirmed, but until then Ambrose is left to sweat over his immediate future.

Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is desperate to join Blackburn, says Owen Coyle as he explains work permit problem
Ambrose has been training with Blackburn after agreeing a loan move on transfer deadline day but still both parties are awaiting a work permit.
