Kyogo Furuhashi determined to impress in green and white

Kyogo Furuhashi made his Celtic debut as a late substitute during Saturday’s match against Hearts at Tynecastle, and now wants to work hard and impress under Ange Postecoglou. Speaking to the media today (Monday), the Japanese attacker praised the Hoops manager’s style of play and also hailed the club’s history – something he’s determined to play a part in moving forward.
“When Ange was in Japan, he showed a very interesting way of playing,” said Kyogo. “The team passed well, they pressed the game well, and I believe we can do that.
“There are many good players here, who aim high. We have an excellent manager, therefore, if we believe in ourselves, the results should follow.”
“Celtic are a big team with great history, so to play here is a big thing for my career and I am very happy to play here.”
With history in mind, Kyogo recalled Shunsuke Nakamura’s wondergoal free-kick against Manchester United at Paradise in 2006, and said he’d love to recreate similar historic moments for the fans during his time in Glasgow.
He added: “When Shunsuke played against Manchester United, for myself and for the supporters, his free kick was historic. So, if I have such a chance, I would like to help achieve similar moments here at this club.
“I am enjoying being here and I’m looking forward to scoring goals and playing in front of the Celtic fans.”

Who is Kyogo Furuhashi

Postecoglou war hinterher auch durchaus angetan: Ange Postecoglou says Kyogo Furuhashi is in his team to stay as a main striking option
The Vissel Kobe import scored in his first start in green and white against Jablonec, netting the second with a delightful dink over the goalkeeper in a 4-2 Europa League qualifying win.

"He's a threat. He's quick, he's got really intelligent movement and he's a good finisher as you saw today. There were a couple of moments where he made some good runs and we couldn't find him. But with his pace and movement he can provide a different option for us through the middle."

Und Ange natürlich sowieso:

Kyogo earns Celtic acclaim from Nakamura as he reveals the vital advice he's urging new hero to follow
Shunsuke Nakamura says he prepared Kyogo Furuhashi for the comparisons that would follow once he signed for Celtic - but told him just to focus on playing football. Kyogo has been an instant hit at Parkhead, scoring six times in his first six appearances including one in Thursday's Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar. He has as many goals already as Nakamura managed in his first season in a Celtic shirt all the way back in 2005/06.

Kyogo Furuhashi appreciates Celtic support after sickening racial abuse as he states 'I'll never walk alone'
The Japanese forward has felt the love and support over the last 24 hours after a social media clip showed fans racially abusing him.

Manager: Our number one priority is to protect and support Kyogo
Ange Postecoglou has reiterated that the number one priority of everyone at Celtic is to protect and support Kyogo Furuhashi. It followed weekend reports of racist behaviour directed towards the Japanese player.

:celt4

Kyogo Furuhashi spell on Celtic sidelines to last 'a month' after Japan injury scare
The worst case scenario appears to have been avoided but losing the top scorer for an expected seven games is far from ideal.

Gute Neuigkeiten!!!

Ange hat heute Folgendes gesagt:

“He’ll get scanned today (Saturday) and I don’t want to put a time frame on it.

“We don’t think it is anything serious but as to whether he will be available for Sunday, we probably won’t know until tomorrow.

“I’ll make a decision then but nothing is confirmed.”

Celtic striker Kyogo a doubt for cup final, but Ange Postecoglou confident he will be fit for Rangers showdown
Postecoglou is unsure if Kyogo will recover in time for the game at Hampden after picking up the injury against Real Betis last Thursday night, but that he should definitely be back before the winter shutdown. When asked if Kyogo could make the cup final, Postecoglou said: “Mate, I could say yes, I could say no. If you ask Kyogo he probably would have played today, if you ask the medical team, they would say he’s out for two or three weeks."

Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi loving life in ‘second home’ Glasgow and raves about Parkhead atmosphere
The Japanese idol has taken to Scottish football brilliantly, netting 14 goals and wowing the Hoops supporters.

Kyogo nets UEFA’s top goal of Europa League Group Stage
Everyone inside Celtic Park was raving about Kyogo’s goal in the 2-0 win over Ferencvaros back on October 19 when the Japanese striker opened the scoring against the Hungarian champions with a truly wonderful strike. Well, it wasn’t only the Celtic Park crowd who were hailing the goal as it came out top in UEFA’s Goal Of The Group Stage in the Europa League. Jota’s pass for Kyogo also played a vital part in the stunning strike which gathered a monster 43 per cent of the vote for the 10 goals nominated by UEFA. The goal was a thing of beauty that started with Jota in the left-back position, he drifted into midfield and, from halfway inside the Celtic half, played a 50-yard ball to exactly inside halfway inside the Ferencvaros half. Kyogo took an excellent touch, and with his next touch the ball was on its way past the keeper and into the back of the net. Congratulations, Kyogo.

Kyogo: I'm so glad we could win this trophy for our fans
There were 13 Celtic players at Hampden who picked up their first winner’s medal for the club, and that included two-goal hero, Kyogo Furuhashi. The 26-year-old Japanese striker, who joined Celtic at the end of July, provided a masterclass in finishing in the League Cup final, scoring both of Celtic’s goals in the 2-1 victory over Hibernian. It takes his tally for the season so far to 16, and not surprisingly, Kyogo was delighted with the goals but, more importantly, for the team to lift the trophy.

Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi voted SIXTH in Asian Ballon d’Or awards after stunning Parkhead start
The Japanese international has already scored 16 goals for Celtic this season and was this week joined by countrymen Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi in Glasgow. He also impressed with Vissel Kobe before he moved to Celtic and he was listed in sixth place in the Best Footballer in Asia award, which was created by Chinese newspaper Titan Sports in 2013 as an Asian answer to the Ballon d'Or. Asian managers and football experts vote for the award. Spurs ace Son Heung-min won the award for the fifth time, ahead of Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun, who plays for Zenit St Petersburg. Also ahead of Furuhashi were Porto playmaker Mehdi Taremi, Saudi Arabian star Salem Al-Dawsari and Arsenal ace Takehiro Tomiyasu. The award is eligible to any player that originated from an Asian Football Confederation nation or plays for a team in the continent.

Kyogo Furuhashi Celtic injury update as Ange Postecoglou gives return timeframe with Rangers clash looming
Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi faces at least a couple more weeks on the sidelines, putting him in major doubt for the February 2 clash with Rangers. The Japanese international aggravated a hamstring injury in the 3-1 win over St Johnstone in December and remains out for the Premiership return against Hibs.

"It's not going to be a quick return. Reluctant to put a timeframe on it. We're still looking at a number of weeks at the moment."

:top1
