Oh: I'm delighted that my dream move to Celtic has come true

It's a move that Hyeongyu Oh has dreamt about, and it's one that has now become a reality for the South Korean internationalist, who has joined the Scottish Champions on a five-year deal. The striker sealed his dream move to Celtic from K-League club, Suwon Samsung Bluewings, having scored 14 goals in the calendar year of 2022. One of the league's top players last year, the 21-year-old was also awarded his first international cap in November. Now as a Celtic player, he can't wait to get started and experience Paradise for the first time.
Speaking exclusively to Celtic TV, Oh said: "I’m happy to be playing at one of the top clubs and I’m delighted that my dream has come true. I feel like I’m on a movie set and I’m really excited to be in the city and I’m looking forward to the upcoming days. This is the moment I have dreamed of and I’m really excited to perform in front of the fans at the stadium."
Oh is not the first South Korean to play for the Hoops, with Ki Sung-Yeung and Cha Du-Ri both having had successful spells with the club in the early 2010s. The striker is delighted to be following in their footsteps and he also wants to follow in their title-winning success. 
He added: "I’m a very aggressive player who also likes the physical side and I like to score lots of goals. One of my aims is to score a lot of goals and I also have ambitions of winning the league championship. Ki Sung-Yeung and Cha Du-Ri are two of the players I respect the most. I have seen them playing for Celtic and I’m now happy to have the Celtic badge on my chest and to be working with the team on its goals."

Ange scheint ja wirklich sehr von ihm ĂĽberzeugt zu sein und auch der bisherige sĂĽdkoreanische Nationaltrainer klingt ziemlich positiv. Ich bin wirklich mal gespannt darauf, wann wir ihn bei uns auf dem Feld sehen werden und was er dann zeigen kann.

Es soll hier natĂĽrlich auch nicht unterschlagen werden, dass Oh bereits sein erstes Tor fĂĽr Celtic erzielen konnte am vorletzten Wochenende gegen St Mirren (ab 3:09).

Gegen Aberdeen am letzten Samstag gab es dann auch sein Startelf Debüt. Ich würde sagen, man konnte schon sehen, warum Ange ihn haben wollte, läuferisch (vom Bewegungsradius) und technisch, seine Ablagen, wie er die Mitspieler in Szene setzen kann etc, sah das schon deutlich gefälliger aus als bei Giakoumakis. Was ihm natürlich noch fehlt ist die Feinabstimmung mit der Mannschaft und (teilweise auch dadurch bedingt) die Fähigkeit, selbst in gefährliche Abschlusssituationen zu kommen. Und in der zweiten Hälfte ging ihm irgendwann auch sichtbar die Puste aus, was aber auch kein Wunder ist wenn man bedenkt, wie lange er jetzt schon keine Spielpraxis mehr hatte. Sollte also alles noch kommen mit der Zeit, aber der erste Eindruck ist schonmal kein schlechter.
